How to get to our region

and La Perriere!

Directions from the Port of Caen (Ouistreham) to
“La Perriere”, 49560 Clere sur Layon.

1.
The Brittany Ferries arrive at Ouistreham, which is 15 kms from Caen.  Leave the port and head towards Caen on the D154.

2.  Join the ring road at Caen - signposted A13 - Paris.  Leave the ring road when you see the sign Rennes/Rouen/Alencon.  You are now  travelling on D158/N158 (dual carriageway) and you follow the road in the direction of Alencon all the way to Le Mans.

3.  After Le Mans  (there are several access roads, but  ignore them all and drive past) take the A11 direction Angers (Nantes). You should now be on the motorway route.

4.  Leave A11 at Junction 14 and head South on the Angers ring road. This is signposted A87/ Cholet/Niort/Poitiers.  The cost for this journey at the peage is normally around 6 Euros.

NOW  REFER TO PAGE 2,  DIRECTIONS FROM THE A11 (Jct.14).

If you do get lost or  miss  your turning in any  towns or villages, the easiest way out is to  follow  the ‘Toute Directions’ or ‘Autres Directions’ signs.  This  will then bring  you  to  the exit out of town and  you can follow  the correct signpost.

Most of the exits on the motorway are clearly signposted but some exits also serve as a route for traffic joining the motorway. Please indicate well in advance that you wish to exit and change lane.

Remember that vehicles leaving the motorway have priority over those vehicles wishing to join the motorway and please give way to your LEFT when approaching the roundabouts.

BEFORE  YOU  EMBARK  ON  YOUR  ROUTE,  PLEASE  REMEMBER  THAT IF YOU ARE GOING TO ARRIVE  IN  FRANCE IN THE  EVENING IT IS RARE TO FIND  FUEL STATIONS  MANNED AFTER 7PM.

After  this  time they  use 24 hour pumps taking  French charge cards -  they  do  NOT normally take UK cards. The cheapest places to get fuel are at  the large supermarkets.
